Free apps are free because you’re the product: the bill gets paid with ads, with your data, and with a feed tuned to keep you scrolling. A subscription replaces all of that. You pay for the app, so the app works for you — we don’t sell your information, and there is nothing to sell your attention to.
Payments are handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never see your card number or billing details.
Your membership renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. To cancel:

Yes — each person has their own membership. The exception is a gift: founding members can give lifetime memberships, and anyone who receives one never pays.
Nothing is deleted. Cancelling doesn’t delete your account, so your posts are still there if you come back. To remove everything, delete your account in the app under Privacy & Data.
No. They’re separate: the subscription is managed by Apple or Google, so cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings as well.
